Introduction

Hi! My name is Mitch, and I’m the founder and CEO here at Join It. Today, I’m excited to look back over all of our accomplishments from the last year and highlight our Top 5 Features that we released.

In 2023, we released over 200 new versions of our software. The majority of those were improvements to existing features, optimizations, and smaller features.

But out of those 200, I picked the top 5 for you. Let’s dive in!

Native Integration with Google Wallet

First up, is our brand new native integration with Google Wallet.

Since we released the feature in 2020, our Digital Membership Cards have been one of our most popular features.

But those cards were built for Apple iPhones and then they were compatible with Android phones … but Android users were often second class citizens for this feature.

No longer! Now we have a native with Google Wallet that matches the iPhone integration - making them dead simple to install with just 1-click and pushing updates to the card when the Membership Record updates.

If you’re interested in a deeper look on how to set up these cards, we’ve put together this video demo for you.

Comments on Membership Records

Second, we added the ability to Add Comments to Membership records!

The idea for this feature came from us observing how a lot of our org admins were using the ‘Notes’ field. So we improved this usage, and now with comments, you’re able to see which admin is leaving the comment and a timestamp.

And even better, we aggregate all of your recent comments on your Dashboard. So you get a full view of all the comments happening across your member database.

Seeing a feature in action is easier than reading about it. So why not watch our video below?

New Charts and Metrics

Speaking of Dashboards, let’s move to our 3rd biggest innovation of the year - new charts and metrics.

Now right in your Dashboard, we show you the latest Membership Growth numbers. And you can visit the ‘Metrics’ tab to see even more.

On this tab, you’ll find:

  • Active Memberships by Month
  • New Memberships by Month
  • Renewed Memberships by Month
  • Churned Memberships by Month

A lot of these improvements were built on a brand new reporting engine. We have an ambitious roadmap for 24, so if you take a moment right now to subscribe, you’ll be the first to know!

New and Improved Reports and Exports

Our 4th biggest feature release stays under the domain of “Insights”, but focuses on our New and Improved Reports and Exports.

On the “New” side, we added a brand new Event Orders Report. Our integration with Eventbrite is one of our most popular features, so this highly requested report marries together your Membership Data with your Orders from Eventbrite.

Earlier in the year, we added a cluster of new reports around our ‘Check-ins’ feature. So now you can run reports on Check-ins in the same way that you do for Payments and Memberships.

And most recently, we added a new column for all ‘Membership Reports’ to export the ‘Renewals’ on a specific Membership.

And as a teaser, we’ve just released a brand new Report that allows you to query for Memberships based on their ‘Renewals’ dates. This is a powerful feature and one that’s been requested quite a bit.

Our commitment is that we want to make your reporting and insights dead simple, yet powerful. And last year, we really leaned into that promise with all of these releases.

New Search

And last but certainly not least, our 5th biggest innovation for the year was “New Search”.

I could talk about this for hours, but I promise, I won’t!

The high level is that we’ve completely revamped the underlying search engine so that we’re:

  • Exposing way more fields for you to search on
  • Making responses over 5x faster
  • Improving the UX that allows you to open new tabs while preserving the search query, and shortcuts directly to sending emails or adding payments

Bonus: Group Improvements

That wraps up our top 5 - but wait, I have a Bonus in the form of honorable mention!

Last year, we also made a ton of improvements to our unique Groups features!

In previous years, ‘Groups’ had represented less than 1% of memberships sold through Join It, and we’ve seen that increase to roughly 5% of our memberships in 2023.

So we’ve invested into a bunch of improvements for Group Registrations:

  • New Renewal Checkout, specifically for Groups. This includes a new setting for your group admins, where they choose whether they want everyone to receive notices or just the group owner.
  • New management tools for Admins
  • Bulk update Status
  • Bulk update Membership Types
  • Add new or existing membership records to the group
  • New backend Group infrastructure, which will power a lot more improvements in 2024

Is Watching A Video Easier Than Reading Text?

Yes, we believe that too! That's why we present our top features in a video, making it easier for you to see them in action.

You can also visit our YouTube channel to watch other videos where we share updates and provide informative content.

Conclusion

And that’s it!

For this coming year, we’ve grown the team and have more resources to deliver an even more ambitious roadmap of features.

In the meantime, if you’d like to add your input into what we should build next - you can vote on our Product Feedback board!
